CatRoom Privacy Policy
CatRoom is a cat-care game for iPhone and iPad made by Sam. This page explains what information the game uses and why.
Information the game keeps on your device
Your cat's name and breed, its stats, your coins, and the items you have bought are saved only on your device. We do not run a server, we do not ask you to create an account, and we never receive this information.
In-app purchases
CatRoom offers optional purchases: Remove Ads (a one-time purchase) and coin packs. Payments are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your name, card or payment details; the game only receives Apple's confirmation of what was bought, and it checks that confirmation on your device. Coins you buy are saved only on your device, like the rest of your game. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, the game schedules reminders on your device (for example, when your cat gets hungry). They are created and delivered locally; nothing is sent to us.
Advertising
CatRoom shows ads through Google AdMob. Some ads are optional: you can choose to watch one to earn a reward. To show and measure ads, Google may collect:
- device identifiers, including the advertising identifier (IDFA) only if you allow tracking when iOS asks;
- approximate location derived from your IP address;
- information about how you interact with ads, and diagnostic data such as crashes and performance.
If you do not allow tracking, you still see ads, but they are not personalised using the advertising identifier. You can change this at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking. Users in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before personalised ads are shown, and can change or withdraw that choice at any time with the Privacy choices button (✋) in the game's Shop.
How Google uses this information is described in Google's policy: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Children
CatRoom is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Ads in the game are limited to content rated suitable for general audiences.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
