Plain-language summary: Future Message is built on a simple promise — your words belong to you, only you. We do not collect personal data, do not require accounts, and do not transmit anything to our servers. Your messages are private and encrypted. If iCloud sync is enabled, your data is securely stored in your personal iCloud account — never on our servers. The pages below explain this in full legal detail.

01 — Privacy Policy

Future Message does not collect any personally identifiable information. No account, email address, name, or phone number is ever required or requested.

The only data that exists is what you voluntarily create inside the app — messages, voice notes, and video notes — and that data never leaves your device.

  • No analytics or tracking SDKs are embedded in the app.
  • No crash-reporting tools that transmit device data.
  • No advertising networks or third-party data brokers.
  • App Store purchase receipts are handled entirely by Apple; we receive no payment details.

All messages, voice memos, and video clips are stored in your device's local file system using iOS sandboxed storage. This means:

  • Data is accessible only to the Future Message app.
  • No other app on your device can read your messages.
  • If you use iCloud Backup, your messages may be included in that backup — governed by Apple's own privacy policy.
  • Deleting the app permanently erases all associated data from your device.

We strongly recommend keeping the app installed until all scheduled messages have been opened.

The app makes outbound network requests only in these specific cases:

  • App Store receipts — to validate Premium purchases via Apple's servers.
  • Push notification tokens — Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) delivery only; no message content is ever transmitted.

We do not use Google Firebase, Meta SDKs, or any other third-party data services. The app has no backend server of its own.

Notifications are scheduled locally on your device — no server is contacted. When a message unlock date arrives, iOS itself triggers the notification. Your message content is never sent anywhere to make this happen.

You may disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings without affecting your stored messages.

Future Message is not directed at children under 13. Because we collect no personal data from anyone, there is no special data handling required for younger users. The app carries a 4+ age rating on the App Store and contains no age-gated content.

If this policy changes materially, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where possible, notify users via an in-app banner on the next app launch.

Terms of Use

02 — Terms of Use

By downloading or using Future Message, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. These terms apply to all versions of the app on all supported platforms.

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Future Message for personal, non-commercial purposes on Apple devices you own or control.

  • You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the app.
  • You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app.
  • You may not use the app for any unlawful purpose.

Premium is a one-time in-app purchase processed entirely by Apple. All billing, refund, and receipt disputes are governed by Apple's App Store Terms of Service.

  • Purchases are non-transferable between Apple IDs.
  • Restoring purchases is available via the "Restore" button in Settings.
  • We do not offer refunds directly — refund requests must be submitted to Apple.
  • Premium features may evolve over time; we reserve the right to adjust what is included.

All content within the app — including design, code, animations, copy, and branding — is owned by or licensed to Future Message and protected by copyright and trademark law.

Your content (messages, voice, video) remains entirely yours. We claim no rights over anything you create inside the app.

The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any loss of data, including messages lost due to device failure, app deletion, or iOS updates.

  • We strongly encourage enabling iCloud Backup as a safeguard.
  • Our total liability to you will not exceed the amount you paid for the app.
  • Some jurisdictions do not allow exclusions of implied warranties; the above may not apply to you in full.

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We will notify you of significant changes via an in-app notice.

We reserve the right to terminate your license if these terms are violated. You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it from your device.

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer is registered, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions.
